Closet Cooking

I just came across this yummy blog! And when I say yummy, I mean YUMMMMMMY! Well, you know what I mean. Haha :))

Grilled Lemongrass Chicken

Chipotle Lime Fish Tacos

I think I'd prefer this with chicken or beef. But this looks really good!

And so much more! Now, I'm getting hungry. Uh-oh! :|

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain

It's the rainy season once again, and these past few days have been erratic -- of course I mean the weather! Haha! :)) It's sunny one minute, then rainy, the next. I don't really like rain. It's such a hassle for me to bring an umbrella or bring protective clothing and I really hate getting wet. :|

But I suppose the only way to see a rainbow is after the rain.

The Other Side

Taken from the fourth floor of the Rizal Library. Excuse my bag at the side.

I'm taking a break. But really, I'm supposed to be searching for articles on glycolysis for my Physiology homework. Oh gosh! Hope I find something soon.

Happy 150th, Jose Rizal!

You have sparked a movement so great that it has become a revolution that made us what we are today. Thank you, Sir!

Today, we commemorate our national hero's 150th birthday. Viva Rizal!

3 Things

1. I've survived first week of school! Haha. That's not really a big achievement though 'cause first week's supposed to be the most relaxed one. And, I'm not exactly done yet 'cause I still have class tomorrow. Yes, on a Saturday. :( Oh well. I hope it'll be worth it.

2. I've changed my layout. It's a very minimalist one (which I absolutely love) from Powered by Pastries (thank you!). This site is really awesome and cute!
I don't know why my labels are everywhere in my posts though, when they're supposed to be only at the bottom of each one. :| I don't know, I have to fix that -- err...ask someone how to fix that. Haha.

3. I've got to start getting fit. o.o Haha. I plan to start swimming in the mornings. Swimming's said to be the best exercise since you use your whole body (arms, legs, lungs, brain...haha! well, you get the picture). And not to mention, swimmers have such toned arms and nice shoulders. *swoon* Hahaha! Just kidding. Well, let's just see how good that'll work. Wish me luck! LOL. :))

The First Day

I spoke too soon -- broke my one post a day thing.

I arrived in Manila yesterday afternoon and I went straight to my dormitory, and I am going to say that it was quite a mess! My roommates, Yap and Nikki, and I did a general cleaning. Now, I suppose the room's better, but well, a dorm's a dorm...if you know what I mean.

And today, school officially starts! Well, it's been alright so far. My first period was a free cut. Yay! I hope my next class is just the same. I'm still in summer mode. But I should say goodbye to it soon. Boo! :|

Catch you later! :)

The Final Eve

I spent most of today spending quality time with my family. We even had a sort of farewell dinner in my grandparents' place. By high noon tomorrow, I'll be flying to Manila and saying my final goodbye to Cebu. Oh, what drama! Kidding. But yeah, I'll miss this little island. I hope I'll be able to come back sooner than expected. I can't believe two weeks has gone by so fast!

Oh well, see you tomorrow, Manila!

Friday.

Time flies absolutely so fast! I feel like I was just starting my summer vacation and now it's practically ending. The countdown is three days til the start of first semester classes and 2 days 'til I fly back to Manila for school. Normally I'd be really ecstatic to find out it's a Friday, but today...well I'm still happy, but I'm really going to miss home. Oh well. I'm sure that another adventure awaits me there!

On the lighter note, I think this one post a day thing is a good thing because it's got my mind working. I guess it helps recharge some brain cells since I'm mostly being idle these past two weeks. Haha! :))

'Til next time!

Red

The color of blood, anger, pain, courage, sacrifice, passion.

And sometimes, also the color of love.

Christian + me

Happy 19th! <3 I look so overly happy in that picture. o.o Remind me not to be this cheesy again. Haha.

I just realized that the above photo is not in any way red, but anyway...to the redness of life! :)

Wednesday Blues

Today's almost just like yesterday and the other day. I get up, eat, go online a little, tend to the things that need tending at home and all that stuff. Except I did something very random today.

I watched Star Trek (2009) on my computer, and I think I actually liked it! Hahaha! It was quite a funny movie. I still prefer Star Wars though, but this is really not bad.

Spock.

And if you also watch The Big Bang Theory,

And now I think I will say that I have a little geekling inside of me. :)))

Live long and prosper!

7 Days

I have exactly one week until the first semester of my Senior year starts. Time flies absolutely so quickly! I can't believe that this year's going to be my graduating year, then a new chapter in my life opens up.

But for now, I'm going to enjoy these last seven days I have at home before all the pressure starts.

I am going to make the best out of my last year in college. Wish me luck!

Happy Weekend!

My weekends are usually spent at home, doing mostly nothing but relaxing and eating and spending time with my grandparents. And this weekend was exactly that. But doubled coz my grandpop's cousin came to visit us. Roll the red carpet all the way! It's been the good life for all of us. LOL. :))

Hope your weekend was just as great! Later!

What the fudge is a blog?

A blog is like a diary, but you want everyone to read it. Like, if you get bad service at a restaurant, you blog it! And then you get a free meal at that restaurant, but then you wonder, did they just lure me back here so they can spit in my food? So you blog about that, and then they take you to court!

I was watching S02E02 of Cougar Town today and I just found that really amusing! :))

Gone Food Trippin'!

Hi from a newb, and this is going to be my first real post. Haha! So here goes!

Last week, my mom, my little brother (who's not so little) and I were in Bangkok, Thailand. We stayed there for just about 4 days. And here are some of the highlights of our trip -- well, food trip really. Excuse the amateur photography. I'm working on it. LOL. :D

I'd say that's like a seafood version of chicken cordon bleu minus the cheese. It's got a lovely sweet and spicy sauce there at the back. Good stuff!

This is mango salad. It's made of semi-ripe mangoes mixed with onions, anchovies, a few nuts and a really delicious tangy sauce.

If you know "oh-wa-tsien", you'll know what this partly is. I don't know what it's called really so I'll just call it Seafood Cake. It has oysters, mussels, egg, veggies and stuff. It's also good with their sauce. Wow, now I feel everything in Thailand is all about the sauce. Haha!

Shabushi! It's shabu-shabu style cooking but the food come to you via conveyor belt! Perfect for pigging out coz you don't even have to stand anymore! The sushi was awesome too!

A modern Japanese version of "ukoy" or fried shrimp. I think it looks really cool.

And my favorite!
Well, it's really just beef sauteed in garlic, but it was bursting with so much flavor that I just loved it so much. It came in a bento box with rice, miso soup, mashed potatoes and other vegetables and sides. Yum! :)

I also cannot get enough of this fried wanton you can practically find at every street, but I didn't get the chance to take a picture of it. That just means I have to back and take some then. Kidding.

That concludes the food part.

I like this photo of the fountain right outside Siam Paragon. It's really pretty, though it's a bit blurry. I like fountains. They make me feel happy.

And we even met TOM CRUISE!
Just kidding. That's a wax figure of him. And that's yours truly. Could have fooled you for a moment there, huh? LOL. :D

Later!

Hi!

As another attempt at making a blog, here I am, bringing random updates of my random life. I already had a blog in another blogging site, but unfortunately they erased it due to some breach of their terms of service. I don't know what I did really. Oh well. I guess when life gives you lemons, you just have to make lemonade, like when your blog gets erased, just make another one. Haha. No, that wasn't very parallel, but you get the picture.

Have a nice day!
